I don't know what I think exactly. I've got to stop trying to think about this logically (in the sense of how is what they did NOT jury tampering and such) and enjoy the suits and the hair.
Reed did get a difficult bit of direct examination that he did sensitively, so that was something. The whole end sequence re who bet and what way they bet was clever.
He and Bash opening the doors for Isabella when they first went to court was a lovely image and there were signs of potential to work together without constant snark.
I think the guaranteed win of the preview for next week kind of made me sigh in the here we go again sense. I'm thinking I should not watch those.
All in all, I guess, progress was made because this episode had a good amount of both Reed and Malcolm.
I watched the show as my ~break from reading, so I wasn't fully comprehending things. The jury-tampering thing... I guess, they didn't want a mistrial to be declared because that would give the prosecution time to regroup?
Have you watched the sneak peek for next ep (lots of Reed, though getting the short end of the stick, once again)? I'd like to think the 2 guys are going to lose (because the server in their home office crashes and all 4 of them are tech-less), but I dunno. These are Franklin and Bash.
Have not watched the sneak peek. I'm afraid to, because I think from dribs and drabs, I've put together what happens and I don't like it. Have no need to maximize watching Damien getting the short end of the stick. ARE YOU ON CRACK? F&B lose? No, because that would only make sense to have our "hereos" (and I use that term very loosely) lose once in a while (else we're in a cartoon-like story--see Coyote v. Roadrunner).
I read a review where the person liked the constant sniping and I'm of two minds about it. On the one hand, don't sink to their level, Damien. On the other, don't just take it, dish some out.
I'm still feeling like crap today so that is likely coloring all of my reactions to everything.
However, you talk to a juror (or have someone who works for you talk to a juror) or threaten a juror or fail to mention said juror is leaking information--you are in it deep and you aren't spotless by any means. And it was unclear to me whether or not they put her up to the performance at the end.
But, you know, all can be forgiven if they end the season like this. The partnership meeting Damien referred to takes place. There are 27 of them--conveniently, an odd number. The vote is 13 to 13 with one vote remaining--Damien's who can then rise above his prejudices and do what's best for the firm (in the eyes of the creators anyway) and vote that they stay. Because now he can always say, you wouldn't be here if it wasn't for me. And we can regain a bit of balance in the show.
Well, the sneak peek gives us a scene with a bet and it involves the guitar that Reed mentions in this YT interview (http://youtu.be/N7Dwa01OCjg). I don't think it's going to look nice on F&B if they lose the case, but at the same time, it's a bit of ... I don't know how to describe it, but it's just so stupid for Damien to lose the guitar because of that bet. It's just so... anti-climactic.
Also, I thing I figured out why his relationship with Hannah was ~celibate. lol
Murr. We don't have a trial by jury here, so most of the jury things just flies over my head.
Oh God, you have just confirmed my worst fear. The guy interviewing Reed said something to the effect of Damien giving up his guitar. Crap! Anti-climactic is a nice word for that. Boring is another.
As to Hannah, they had a thing before when they worked at different places that involved a lot of fighting and make up sex. She wants to rekindle but they're working at the same place so Damien's resisting. Hence, no sex. That was my take from the pilot anyway.
They wanted an antagonist at the same firm so I'm afraid we're firmly in thankless task territory (wrt Reed playing Damien).
Stopped watching midway through. I'm gonna have to drop this show from my watch list. :( F&B are so disgusting (I almost just gave up at the thong comment at the beginning), and I don't know how to deal with a show where I can't get down with the main characters, despite strong secondary characters. It's such a shame, because I loved what I saw of Reed and Malcolm all being awesome, and, again, F&B's assistants. Maybe if I only disliked one of them, then I'd be cool, but I just can't get over both of them. And I wasn't big on the case, either, because it was completely ridiculous to me, even though I realize this isn't, y'know, L&O or anything.
The start was a bit o_o with me, but since I only watch it for a few people, I just fast forward to their bits (Stanton Infeld's scenes gave me some lulz). It was like how I watched Dollhouse's first 5 eps. I ff-ed most of Echo's scenes (which means I only watched half of the ep), since the supporting characters can just fill me in with what's happening.
Yeah, see, I could totally get through Dollhouse because I only disliked Echo. Which meant I also had other main characters and a plethora of secondaries to love on.
You know, I do have on demand, maybe I should start watching it there and ff-ing all of the grossness...
AND LULZ YES BASICALLY THAT GRAPHIC FOREVER. *steals and covets*
That graphic is what happens when you let me loose on photoshop after reading 80 pages about logic. jfc. I think I need to make a bigger, poster-sized one. lol.
The FF button is a very powerful tool and will allow you not to miss some very very lovely suits. This could become the XFiles all over again for me. Didn't like Mulder or Scully, but loved Cigarette Smoking Man and Alex Krycek. Hope it doesn't, but ... if so, the FF button will be my friend.:)
